When should cylinder head bolts be replaced?
The cylinder head bolts should be replaced when there are signs of elongation, or cannot be specified if it is already elongated, by checking the "waist" of the bolt. As a rule of thumb, a cylinder head bolt of these Aquamatic series, cannot be re-used more than five times.
What are the torque settings of a Volvo Penta AQ171, AQ251?
The tightening should be performed in three stages with bolts lubricated.
Tightening torque settings:

20 Nm 15 lbf. ft.

- angle tightening 120°
