Recmar® water pump impeller kit, suitable for the following Sherwood pumps:
- GP8001-01 pumps, regularly mounted on Kohler 5-7KW engines (Kohler 359341) 4EF, 5E, 6EF, 7.3E, 4 EFCD, 5 ECD, 6 EFCD, 7.3 ECD
- GP8002-01 pumps, regularly mounted on Onan engines (Onan 132-0395) Cummins-Onan: MDKBH , 4MDKBH , 5MDKBH
Sherwood suggests that impellers be replaced annually, or at least once a year, depending on the application. However, it is advisable to inspect them frequently to detect any excessive abrasions or damage. Additionally, impellers should be removed from the pump housing during extended periods of inactivity to prevent ultraviolet deterioration, vanes from setting into position, and copper bonding between the impeller and the housing. Engine overheating is the primary cause of premature engine wear, and any issues with the impeller can result in this.
