This head gasket kit, also known as a decarbonizing gasket kit, includes the head gasket with reference 3584202, 3580482. The cylinder head bolts with reference 3580483 and 3580484 should be replaced when needed[1], and tightening should be performed in three stages, following the attached diagram.
Tightening torque settings:
- 30 Nm (22.10 ft.lbs)
- 70 Nm (51.70 ft.lbs)
- 90–95 Nm (66–70 ft.lbs)
Kindly check the second picture that provides the necessary instructions, directly quoted from the Volvo Penta workshop manual.
[1] The cylinder head bolts should be replaced when there are signs of elongation, or cannot be specified if it is already elongated, by checking the "waist" of the bolt.
