This is a sleeve that can be pressed into the cylinder block of the engines above, in order to restore the engine to standard-size pistons. The sleeve has the following specifications
Ø 78.61 x 84.23 x 234.95 mm.
For D1 and D2 engines, the sleeve must be machined to 79.37 mm, while the 2000-series requires a bore of 79.00 mm when it comes to standard size.
When to use this kit?
An MD1A or an MD2A has damage on the cylinder wall, while the piston is still usable. A new piston cannot be sourced, since it is no longer available. Your cylinder block must be drilled to the required outside diameter of this sleeve. Then, the sleeve can be pressed in and machined to the standard size. The old piston, along with a new set of rings 875271, will be installed.
A 2000-series engine is already oversized, but the cylinder wall is damaged, and an additional overbore is not possible. The cylinder block must be drilled to the required outside diameter of this sleeve. Then, the sleeve can be pressed in and machined to the standard size.
